Blocked Sinks and Drains

If the blockage is serious, don’t worry, we will get you informed and talk you through step by step.

Toilets

Toilets are by far the most-used part of any bathroom, but they’re often the most overlooked — until they begin to clog, or they stop flushing properly, or they develop cracks. The simple fact is that most consumers completely forget about their toilet until it causes them problems.

Signs your toilet is not working efficiently or even blocked:
  • Beginning to gurgle

  • Water drains away slowly
  • Becomes very smelly
  • Water is leaking on the floor in the toilet
  • Flush button no longer working
  • Cistern is no longer filling with water
  • Water is backing up in the toilet bowl and not flushing away
We can assist with repairs to leaking, damaged and blocked toilets. We can also assist with the following
  • Installing new toilet suites
  • Seat replacements
  • Cistern installations and repairs
  • Isolation taps and flexi hose repairs and installations.
Rest assured that our professional plumbers will recommend only the best quality products and solutions to fix your leaking toilet issues

Blocked Sinks

Every so often your sink can clog up. Although the kitchen sink is one of the most used and important sinks in your home, it isn’t the only one!  Let’s face it, a blockage can occur in any of them and it’s enough to make you pull your hair out in frustration or recoil in disgust.

Unfortunately, a blocked kitchen or bathroom sink is a very common problem. And, because it is a part of the house that is not only used daily but performs a very important function, a blocked sink is going to seriously ruin your day – or worse.

Blocked Drains

It is important you don’t wait to get blocked drains tended to. Bacteria can build up where the blockage is and potentially cause health risks to your household. If left too long, blockages can also lead to structural damage where water pools in certain areas.

What Causes a Blocked Sink and Drain?

Lots of things can cause a drain to become blocked, hence preventing the flow of water within the pipeline. Some of examples of these are:

  • Build-up of grease

  • Hair and other bathroom build-ups such as soap
  • Toilet paper
  • Tree root invasions, dirt and garden waste
  • Collapsed or damaged pipes
  • Sanitary napkins
  • Solid objects
  • Baby wipes
  • Laundry detergent and material from clothes

When such blockages occur, you will usually find water pooling within basins, sinks, shower or the toilet begins to back up.  Another common sign is when water comes back out through your drain. You may find your drains begin to smell or you may hear gurgling noises within your pipes.

We at Plumbing Professionals NQ are able to assist with these issues. Our ‘Poo Cam’ can assist with locating the blockage/ drainage issue and the hydro jet water blaster can assist with clearing the blockage. If the blockage is serious, drainage excavation maybe required.
